DNE World Fruit sources Navels, Clementines, Mandarins, Cara Caras and Midknight Oranges from the Western Cape area of South Africa from June through October. The Western Cape has a Mediterranean climate making it an ideal region for growing citrus. Its southern location with mild winters and warm summers provides an excellent growing environment. South African Citrus complements the U.S. citrus industry because it is contra seasonal to the domestic citrus products.
Each shipment of South African citrus undergoes rigorous inspections and is approved by the FDA prior to leaving the port of Cape Town and again upon arrival in the U.S.
